and has been enjoying the fruits of that bushes labors.
The various other rose bushes haven't been quite as photogenic.
Used some 'puter manipulation besides the standard sharpness
with that pic; a touch of brightness and toned down the exposure.
Fun stuff.

There is no doubt in my mind that Lumix Leica lenses are fantastic.
I have the 25mm 1.4 and the 14-50 2.8 4/3 format lenses. Both were manufactured in Japan at Panasonic factories under Leica licence and supervision. (there were actually Leica people on site doing the QC)
Keep in mind though that the job of a lens is to transmit light without changing the colour, and with as much sharpness as possible. It is the processing engine in the camera that gives you the final colour "flavour" that you see.
When Panasonic and Leica combined efforts in 2006 to release, first the L1 in Feb, and the Digilux 3 in Sept, the cameras were similar in appearance, carried an almost identical feature package, but the Leica used a modified processing engine which took away the slightly saturated colours that the L1 had as standard, giving the Leica better flesh tones IMHO.
I have both cameras and prefer the Lumix for nature and landscape photos and the Leica for people photos.
we installed 2 rosebushes just outside of the front door. When I saw the very first signs of sprouting a bud I began a photo journey like no other I have done. Every morning and again every evening I took pix of the bud from different angles and perspectives in various stages of AM & PM light. Day in, day out. Ended up with 250 pix of the 2 roses as they went thru flower toddlerhood, teen angst, and finally full adult sexuality...well, you know what I mean. The day after these two final pix were taken, a deer came by and ended my project as well as the life of the two rose bushes!
I discarded the notion of keeping things in focus and sharp. I really liked the abstract look of things that were blurry, or in silhouette or indistinct.
my reliance on "intelligent auto" will keep me at at a level far below those though.
Still fun, and man, I DO love roses and never fail to take a moment to smell one within nose reach.
That top one smells kinda psilocybinish from here...
