I'm fascinated by the world you seldom see.
I HAD some very good Macro stuff and made my own ringlight and some other 'aids'
Here's a shot I just found while looking for some OTHER lost photos. I hope your monitors are 'close' to correct color.

Beautiful shot.
I've been a fan of macro photography for a while now. The ability to capture images that one could never see with the naked eye. There is much beauty in something as simple as a mosquito.
My arm, my blood, my photo.
the sacrifice for a photo op. Cool shot indeed...
What gear did you use?
It wasn't much of a sacrifice. I was working outside and that little bugger was one of many that sipped upon my blood that day.
Camera was an Olympus e-500 with a Zuiko macro lens. Just bought myself an Oly OMD M-1 this past weekend - quite the little unit.
amazing detail and textures so close yet so far away.

and when did micro get the name change anyway? My only insect shot of any merit is not a cool mic/macro like yours, it was taken of a bee gone mad in a humungous lavender farm with 250 kinds of lavender. I have a huge blow up on my wall...
I like your pic, do you have others of bugs?
Micro / Macro are 2 different things, as I've been educated.
MACRO starts I don't know where and ENDS when the object on the negative is 1:1 or 'lifesize'.
MICRO starts where Macro leaves off and is LARGER than life, like 2:1 or greater.
It's all academic anyway, maybe, since by the time you get into crop factor with the new stuff like APS 'C' (1.5 or 1.6 CF) AND than add enlargement and cropping, it's HUGE, any way you slice it.
