Depending on the beans and quantity I buy.

How do you manage home roasting?
Oven? Stovetop? (whirly type popcorn popper!) OR?
Can you listen for 1st and 2nd 'crack'?
How good is process control? By that I mean, can you get the same roast repeatably?
Too much is never enough
I'm using a Behmor roaster. I roast a pound at a time. Yes I listen for the cracks, I can't really tell by looking at the beans. It's pretty consistent. When I get new beans, I have to stand by the roaster the first time to find the correct time. Once I do that, it's the same every time I roast those beans. I usually stop it just before the second crack (city+).

I roast small amounts a few times a week. All done in less than ten minutes. Let it breathe overnight and grind it the morning.
It's like cooking the same meal over and over. You get pretty good at roasting after a while.
