It's a monadnock. Single isolated mountain. I live in its shadow.

My daughter lives in its shadow (more or less) of Monadnock -- but I don't have a good photo of that particular monadnock ;-)
You probably also know that Mt. Monadnock is the second-most 'climbed' mountain in the world (after Fuji).
You're very lucky -- that (this!) is a beautiful part of the world (well, at least in the summer time!).
I guess we used to live in sight of (well, a short ride from sight of) another one -- Mt. Wachusett in MA.

Looks like we took similar migratory paths; I used to live in one of the hill towns in western Mass before moving to the upper valley.
