I have this problem that has been keeping me up for days. Last time it rained, which was about 4,000 miles ago, I realized I needed a new windshield wiper blade. I could tell I needed a new one, because the one that is installed now wasn't working then, and I suspect it doesn't work now. There is no rain forecast, but one never knows what might happen. Oh, one thing that complicates this is that I am going in for an oil change tomorrow. So the question I am struggling with is this: Should I stop at a gas station and pay an exhorbitant amount for a new blade today, or should I wait until it starts raining again?
Another problem that is really bothering me is the fact that I have several CD and DVD players. The best sounding players, which are also the coolest looking ones, are already in my rack. The others are in my audio closet. Some of them sound really good and look pretty cool as well. Which should I sell?
I also need your expert help in finding some information. The other day mkuller posted something about seeing Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood in concert, and he seemed to think it was a pretty good show. I thought it would be wonderful to see that show as well, but was surprised by the article in the Times this morning that said last night's show at the Hollywood Bowl closed their 14-city, three week tour. The Times also claimed the show was excellent. Has anyone heard when and where their next concert date will be? Maybe San Diego this weekend?
I'm also still trying to decide whether I wanted a milkshake or an iced coffee this morning on the way to work. I went ahead with the iced coffee, but now I am not so sure. I think I'll go with the milkshake. Your thoughts?
[If the above makes absolutely no sense to you, congratulations are in order. You have been confining yourself to the saner portions of the Asylum.]

Pick up a can of Bom Ami (Formula Cleaning Power) listed in their Products cat. @ http://www.bonami.com/
Also pick up a small bottle of Rain X at local auto supply house
http://www.rainx.com/Products/Windshield_Treatment/Original.aspx
Clean the outsides surfaces of windshield, rear view mirrors, and rear windshield with the Bon Ami ... this will remove deep inbedded road debris that Windex can't touch
Now that all the windows to be treated are buffed clean by the Bon Ami ... apply the Rain X per instruction (I use 2 apps of Rain X )
The Bon Ami will polish the windows clean, similar to compounding your car before waxing and the Rain X reduces wiper steaking, headlight glare at night, and causes the rain to just run off the windshield due to reduced surface tension
The harder it rains and the faster you drive the less you will need your wiper blades as the water just runs off the glass surfaces
Most wiper failure (streaking) is caused by microscopic tears in the rubber blade portion of the wiper blade due to dirt stuck to the windshield tearing the rubber
Keeping the winshield clean will extend wiper life and reduce streaking
I used to work for Trico, the wiper people, when they had U.S.A. based manufacturing. I was in the Q.C. department, and we cleaned the test windshields with Bon Ami prior to doing our sampling. The inside of the test windshields were painted black, so we could see the streaks left by the blades.
I got tree sap on my car's windshield, so I thought of Bon Ami. I cleaned it, and the sun's glare from the scratching was blinding. The windshield was ruined.
Never again.

Do you remember when it was as easy as " Sir do your blade's have buttons or clips"
Now .... long frame short frame, plastic or metal, euro or areo, triple edge or wind deflector
Been polishing the wife's windshields for to many years to count ... a Happy Wife is a Happy life ... never had an issue
Guess I'll have to press harder

Now I can't remember if I was being serious when I posted that or not. ;~)

I am only speaking for myself, but everytime I visit this place, I learned a lot and get entertained at the same time.

I'm going to print his post and show it to my wife. And say, "See, someone thinks I'm brilliant!"

...and not to get off topic, but what qualifications are required to become an audio reviewer? Do your ears need to be extra clean and wax-free? Is the ability to read and write a prerequisite? Do you have to listen to music ...or can you review using comedy tapes and LPs of JFK speeches? If you don't have a home, would a SubZero box or a tent be considered an adequate listening environment for the purpose of critical reviews?
Oh ...milkshake ...coffee milkshake. Its the best of both.

reelsmith's axiom : Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
I think the ability to sit for long periods with a blindfold on would be the main one... [Now going into hiding to avoid the inevitable assassination attempt]
Get the live DVD of Clapton/Winwood, play it on the player you have ready to go, sit down with all the milkshakes you and Mrs. BWK
can consume while watching it together and waiting for the rain and Winwood/Clapton's next tour.
Maybe a bowl of popcorn or other slightly salty snack.
I think that's a cohesive thought, but it's been a while.
(BTW: I used to like a little 151 rum in my chocolate shakes, but that was in a previous lifetime.)

Later Gator,
Crank up your talking machine, grab a jar of your favorite "kick-back", sit down, relax, and let the go
Sell any audio equipment that would not make you wince at not having those units available to listen to... :o)
Next question?... :o)
Bill.
