As regard Liz's accent, I think it fair to suggest that there is little in her current vocal delivery in common with the stiff and stilted version of "Oxford English" that characterised much of the speech from the monarchy (and media such as the BBC) in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s...

Re rerudition, whilst we may not all possess as much innate wisdom (sound "judgement" and "perspective") as could be desired, the least all of us should do is to ensure that we are as well-informed as is practicable, on the widest variety of subjects possible, as greater knowledge may at least help to maximise whatever natural wisdom may exist... :o)
I suggest that since the fates have given us intelligence, the least we should do is to make sure that we use it, hopefully to benefit both ourselves and others... :o)
