Here are a couple pix. Note the absence of the old photograph of me, my oldest sister, and a stuffed easter bunny in the background...
I will have to defer a lot of the credit of the power supply to Paul Joppa. I created the rectifier/filter board and mated it with PJ's hybrid shunt reg design. Also, the circuit is very close to a tried and trusted design of his.

And PJ's design was my request for a refinement of a previous design by me, which used 6CK4s for the regs and TL-404s at the outputs. Come to think of it that one had JT's reg boards, which came from Broskie's article, C4S's from Buddha, etc., etc. All this good stuff builds upon the work of others.
Dear Doc;
Thanks for the history lesson. Makes me even fonder of the preamp, now that I have a better idea of its lineage. As a potter, I was first taught by Bob James, then Hamada Shoji, and Michael Cardew and David Stannard. Later, I taught with George Kokis and learned from Harry Davis. Now, I am passing it on in workshops and on the net, like you guys do at VSAC and here and at the Bottlehead Forum. My thanks to every Bottlehead here, and especially the crew in Poulsbo.
Looks really cool guys! You'll have to bring it to the next VSAC!
I like the blue bell ends a lot. How did you do that?
That is a little bit of toaster oven powder coating.

Thanks, Paul for adding your comments on the genesis of this project. I include here photos of one of the TVCs, which are beautifully made by Horace Atkinson of I.A.G.
