Here's my latest thinking: first of all, picture a PX25 running somewhat traditionally [approx 375 vpk @ 55 mA].
Now imagine that PX25 sitting between a 100 W 6.25 kohm plate resistor and a 200 W 12.5 ohm cathode resistor [30 vdc filamentary bias supply] - heck, that's enough heat to qualify for a BBQ around here!

A 735 vdc B+, a 3.3 mfd Silver Mundorf parafeed cap, a pinstriped EXO-050 and a 25T front-end complete the entree. Mmmmmm.

Now, I don't have a pair of 200 W 12.5 ohm resistors just yet...but, I'm thinking...
