Yeah, the plan was for a Kaiju for my Maggies but that didn't work out so they ended up in one of my Stereomours. Set up with Dowdy chokes, reused the BH plate choke in the power supply. Added vintage nickel grid chokes, some bypass caps and changed the parafeed cap to a Riken aluminum/paper in oil. It's got more grunt with the TFA2004's and 2a3=40's. Running them in with some MMG's, terrible efficiency but I listen almost near field so it's great for me. Here's a pic of the interior.
Follow Ups:
First 20 hours in and so so on the sound. There were a couple of things changed and I think I'm only a tenth of the way to getting any synergy. The mids are detailed, not much extension on the highs, top hats don't have the sting/ring or sound decay I expect. Not much bass. Or I should say not much clear bass. So the wait continues. I'm picking a few songs to test at 50 then 100 and so on to see if I can hear any improvements. Will wait to put it on a scope, going to enjoy the process for a while.
Changed over to Frugal horns, liking these outputs more and more. The mids are detailed, sparkle where it needs to be, just enough bass. I like these very much.
