A couple of years after Mike was kind enough to build me a pair of silver DS 025 outputs with 4 ohm taps I finally finished my Baby Ongaku amps. They've been playing a few hours and starting to break in nicely. These guys are built on heavy and thick copper plates (front panel express did the metal work). No expense was held: NOS black gates all around. Silver cast duelund coupling caps, nine six copper grounds, duelund silver hookup wire, tantalum resistors, totl cardas rcas and binding posts, silver plated audio note tube sockets, yamamoto wooden soldering strips, brass screws and hardware, etc, etc. Thanks Mike and Keto for the support and thanks Gordon for the circuit.
Stay tuned because there's and identical pair in the works except that it will be done in parafeed.

I've been wanting to make the BO's since first ready SP what 20 years ago!
Mike,
What is the price for a pair of Silver DS025's?
Or is it if i have to ask i can't afford them!

Hey Xavier,
congrats for the new amps -- they look great.
Congrats too for the project itself. Very cool, on many levels!

Thanks,The amps have slightly more than four hours (yes, I'm keeping a log) and last night some bass jumped out of the blue! Of course the silver inputs in the pre are breaking in too but the whole system is already starting to sound fuller.
You should be able to hear it in full glory in one or two weeks.

Hi Xcortes... can you share the schematic for the parafeed version ? ..thanks
Donīt have one as such. I'm planning on sticking to the "classic" BO circuit and just substituting the DS-025 output with an EXO-03 choke and a TFA-2004 Jr (both with silver windings, this is Mike's Mexico Series). And add, of course, a parafeed cap.
The BO operating point should work pretty well with the 3k impedance.
The ground of the output transformer will go the cathode of the 2A3.
Does this make sense?
I prefer grounding the "negative end" of the pf primary directly to ground.

Xavier,
Nice! Did you have any problems with the Cardas RCA's? For some reason I can solder their binding posts, but the RCA's never seem to work for me.
Thanks,
Gordon

I always grind a bit off the rhodium coating where I want to solder until I get to the brass. No problem with soldering then.

Hi Gordon,
They're a bitch to solder. I just put my soldering station to the max and leave it there for an eternity. My preamp (now with silver inputs too) has six inputs, three outputs and a tape loop and all of them were those RCAs so I had to find a way :)
Thanks again for sharing the circuit.
Regards,
Bas
