Hi
I have Foreplay and Paramour both c4s, modded beyond reason, BH-5 Full Nickel Outputs and BH-6 Plate Chokes are installed. I've connected switch to select between speakers and headphones. Headphones are 50 ohm so I have 10 ohm resistor in parallel to lower impedance to 8.3 ohm.
This setup has been running for over 2 years and sounds marvelous.
I been wondering if there is better way to connect these headphones to this amp.?
Also would be any improvement in using 16 ohm output with say 24 ohm resistor? I thought that one winding would have better headroom than other.
Thanks,

Try the 16 ohm directly into the headphones. SE Triodes like higher impedance. It should sound good and you are not needing a lot of power.

Won't that reflect an impedance back to the primary of the OPT that's well above it's design constraints? I would expect whatever is gained through this in terms of reduced tube distortion to be offset by some loss of high frequency bandwidth.

Thanks I will give it a try
