Return to K&K Audio / Lundahl Transformers
195.50.183.212
Looking at the specs for the LL1685/100 (17H) it says "Recommended DC Current 100mA". What does this mean?
I am building a 12B4A linestage. Both channels draw a total of approx 45mA. Would I have to "bleed" an additional 55mA to be able to use this in a choke input PS? My transformer is good for 120mA.
Better Lundahl options than the LL1685 for a choke input supply in a 45mA circuit?
If I use a capacitor input PS, would I have to take the "recommended DC current" in consideration at all?
Follow Ups:
No, you don't need to draw the "recommended" current for the chokes to work well for you in either choke input or capacitor input power supplies. The "recommended" current is the recommended maximum.

I will do a physical mock-up in my chassis to see how much space I have available for a LL1685 choke. I do not want to place the PSU caps too close to the choke.
You have got mail, Kevin.:)
