  The original request was for a 5V shunt regulator.
  
  I do not think Dave has ever offered a low voltage shunt regulator, though that could be interesting.
  
  Especially when only a positive voltage is required. I think there is a NATIONAL chip available for this purpose, not sure about the voltage.
  
  Main reason is this supply could be useful for many other devices, like the HAGERMAN USB board.

    You are correct that the original request was not for a shunt regulator, it was for a Minimal Reactance Power Supply similar to the RAKK dac supply.

  I will design and price a kit similar to the RAKK dac 12V Minimal Reactance Power Supply, only it will be 5V at 2A. I will put the result up on this site in a few days.
  
  Again, if there is interest I will do an optional enclosure.

    Thanks Dave for your efforts. The options out there range from an ELPAC wallwart that's $100 to a $950 supply by Wayne at Boulder. I think we can do just as well with the Minimal Reactance PS however.
