Suggestions for step up for a John Boskie phone pre

In the last TCJ, John posted a circuit I would be interested in building (last ckt at the bottom of post), yet, not sure of what LL magnetics to use. Application would be for a Shelter 501 II .4mv, 12 ohm DCR. Suggestions appreciated.

If you follow the suggested design as given, either the LL9206 or the LL1678 will work fine with the Shelter 501 II.

    Ideally I would use a larger transformer on the output due to the higher signal levels present. I might be inclined to try an LL7905 at 1:11.2, because of the size and ratio. However, if you keep signal levels at the secondary below 2vRMS an LL1678 connected for 16:1 will probably work.
