Lowther offers 15 ohm drivers. Two advantages of the 15 ohm drivers is that xmax increases to 3mm and there is no 2 kHz peak like that with present the 8 ohm drivers (at least the 15 ohm DX4 lowthers don't have this peak).

Can I ask what your source is on that? I'm about to order EX4 drivers to replace my DX4s and need to decide between 8 and 15 ohm. Thanks.
Take a look at the LB12 from EM Speaker. It has a 16ohm impedance and 97.5db/w/m efficiency. Its available as a field coil or permanent magnet.

They also have a 7 & 8 inch with 15ohm impedance and 93db + efficiency
