Went to their URL and Jon is no longer their USA dealer!
Follow Ups:
Jon assisted me with cone alignment after he was no longer representing Lowther.
Yes, it's a shame. I'm not sure why Lowther did what they did but maybe they are treading water themselves. A shame, because their drivers - when properly implemented, which is quite rare! - are amazing.
According to Lowther UK this is their canadian distributor:http://www.quinceton.com/
And this their US distributor:
Seems to be another company now (Lowther USA) but the website is very basic. Perhaps it's also a one man operation?
Been around for many years. They were never an authorized Lowther dealer but stuck Lowther drivers into bass reflex speakers. Lowther drivers were never designed to be used this way.

I see. So now if I want a Lowther driver for my Gough enclosure project I should go directly to them?
Lowther, the manufacturer started selling direct to the states over the internet undercutting Jons sales. He just decided to call it quits. Really sucks when a manufacturer does that
Alan
When a company has no problems under cutting their dealers they also won't have a problem screwing the customers. A shame.
Yeah these aren't exactly low maintainance drivers. Jon's customer support in servicing them was excellent as well

I spoke with John before he shut down. Apparently Lowther U.K. was selling direct to US customers bypassing Lowther America.
Retail is tough. It does not make sense to sell a product the manufacturer will also sell directly to your customers. It does place a big question mark on the value of a distributorship.
A darn shame, really.I bought my Alerions from Jon years back when the DX55s were the high end of the DX line. I likely would not have known when Lowther came out with the DX65s had Jon not contacted me and advised on Lowther's trade-in upgrade policy.
For a very reasonable price Jon installed the DX65s. A wonderfully satisfying experience that could never have been duplicated working direct with the factory in the UK.

Jon did a great deal of service to bringing Lowther to attention in the US, from his excellent customer support, helpful pre-sales assistance and having information about enclosures/plans as well as demonstrating Lowthers at audio shows. Very sad to hear about this development.
That would account for no longer caring about the consumer and only about the money.
No
Alan
Manufacturers should not be allowed to sell below MSRP to be fair to the dealers.
Bill
Jon sold me my Lowther Medallions many years ago. Though I was a customer he always treated me as a friend. The presence of Lowther in America is do to him. Lowther should be boycotted. Jon, if you are reading this I am really sorry that Lowther has treated you like this. I know how much you loved selling there speakers. Take care
Alan
