Converted a pair of old Altec 891A cabinets to an econowave 12 using the Selenium D220Ti compression driver and a Selenium 12PW3 woofer. Used the econowave crossover schematic for woofers > 95db efficient. Sounds wonderful with detailed mids and highs and great dynamics. Very efficient. The Altec cabinets are well built with oiled walnut veneer from 1973. I have the original Altec woofers (need refoaming) and tweeters if anybody wants them.

Which wave guide is that?
The waveguide is the Pyle PH612 or the Dayton H6512, both are clones of the JBL waveguide used in the JRX series of monitors. They are CD horns which image fantastic and don't have that "cupped hands" sound. They are what you want for hifi audio.
I am a fan of that waveguide as well, used it in two different pairs of 2ways. Give this cheapie driver a try (it measures like a prv290py. http://www.amazon.com/EMB-ESM6-Compression-Tweeter-Peavey/dp/B00CIATOFM
Thanks. I have seen references to this driver before but I can't find any specs on it. What is the diaphragm made of and where can I see a response curve for it?
