For helping me with my coaxial project. I read his post on coaxials and how the Electrovoice LT12 was a great way to try vintage without paying Altec $$$. I found a pair of Knight KN830 for an okay price locally. Except for the frame they seemed very similar to the LT12 and he said they were probably made by Electrovoice. I had some old oak plywood left over from an earlier project so open baffle was the way to go. Mark even talked me off the ledge when I was frustrated with a buzzing I heard in the woofers. He told me how to save 'em. Replaced the caps and L-pads. What a class act Mark is for helping a complete stranger.

Acting as you did is the way audiophiles/music lovers are supposed to act! We should strive to help and share info ---{ provided of course those others want the info we're willing to share }--- with others who want to know about a particular audio path we've already tread. This is what the hobby is supposed to be all about! It's not about tearing down SET users because you like high power solid state amps, nor is it about tearing down dipoles because you prefer sealed boxes etc.
It's always about helping others get the best sound from what they have or from a new audio path they're about to take. Just like you helped the original poster get the best from his Knight coax purchase. Like you I'm in the process of sharing info with a fellow Asylum member who's about the travel down the new audio path of High Sensitivity speakers and Low Wattage tube amps.
Let's all stop the meaningless arguments such as; Tube vs Solid State, Objectivist vs Subjectivist, Vinyl vs Digital, DBT vs Non-DBT etc., etc., etc. Let's all start really helping our fellow audiophiles/music lovers in whatever audio path they're choosing to tread and let's stop tearing others down just because they're traveling a different audio path than you are! If we all do that, just watch how our hobby grows & grow...

It seems silly in the extreme to argue about one setup being "better" than another when the end goals were never the same to begin with. In audio as in life, you can choose to lend a hand or...otherwise.
do you like what you're hearin'?
:-)
all the best,
