Don't know s'*& about that. So I googled it- first picture that shows up gots a 604 in a "Karlson". Wooden curtains. Playin Gerry Muligan- mono.... Gotta learn more about this. Easy to build, looks
Linn Sondek LP-12, Lingo PSU, Ittok LVII arm, AT OC9ML cart, Audio Origami lead, scratch-built tube phono stage with separate power supply (design by inmate NAZ!), Cayin TA30 integrated tube amp (with Bizzy Bee mods), TAD (Bizzy Bee) 805SD speakers.
the most famous Karlson was developed and finished in the summer of 1951.It has less cone excursion and modulation distortion than a reflex. They can play quite loud with very little cone movement. The wings benefit from dowel rod struts from the front shelf. Diyaudio member XRK971 made a scaleable akabak script to analyze the design.
GregB, a few years ago, devised a variant known as a "Karlsonator" which has an offset driver path, lower tuning and lower cutoff.
K15 has a mediocre looking graph including low frequency extension, but within its range, it can deliver powerful transients provided the right speaker is used.

Are you "freddi" on the DIY forum? I'm just starting to read a Karlson thread on DIY by "freddi". Thinking strongly about a Karlson for the TB 8W-1772. Saw someone's (yours?) post of a 1772 in a rather small Karlson, playing some eerie beautiful Chinese music. I like it- but I think I would want a little larger box. I looked briefly at some of xrk971's posts, but at this point too technical for me. If I do this, I will try to copy someone else's successful build.

yeah - that was a 1955-56 tiny Karlson 8 with the 1772 - you need more like a "K10" size in a regular Karlson to get some semblance of bass - below is a 0.65 scale version of a K15 built by Jesse Brunner of Triticum audio and loaded with Eminence Beta10cx - in the other cabinet I presently have a Fostex FE206EN
The Karlsonator 8 should be a nice small build with deeper reach than my K10 - a K10 size can have pretty good "hit" on drums - maybe more than a horn
