hey RCA-Fan
if so, how large would you make the reflector?
how does this look? - baffle and lid are 3/4" BB, rest 5/8" BB

Follow Ups:
Yes, and you can make it about an inch longer.
The bottom one is fine.
You will get more at 1kHz.
Bill
any thoughts on how these will compare?
When Bill rebuilt that horn he found a few response problems - so advised me on a build which was wider. Partly because I don't have a reflector at the first turn, my version gets a bit rough above ~350Hz. Its quite a bit smaller than FH1 - must go as deep. FH1, being bifurcated may be smoother. FH1 is a well braced horn - moreso than La Scala. If interested -I'll try to dig through my email to see if there's a dimensioned drawing.

I use Peavey HF-1 (similar to LaScala). How does the RCA Fan's 70Hz horn compare?
an inch longer - what size would that be ?
Karlson Evangelist
could a practical folding extension be made - say two hinged pieces on the sides then a trapezoidal piece to connect to those to form a larger mouth and more path?
Karlson Evangelist
No.
What happens is that there is a rising characteristic, negating the present response if you add a flare.
If you E-mail me I will send you drawings with the little angles.
Bill
thanks - can't find a working email as the asylum mail blocks unsolicited

Freddyi, It's nice to have back on the forum. Quite some while back you mentioned some health problems and not long after that you pretty much quit posting. I'm glad you are back.
