After selling my little 3200 Bitone I enjoy the Mono setup containing the left over 6201 Bitone.
Just added a new youtube file of the Mono System, playing "Summer Time" ... The late 40th gear sounds so sweet ...

Kloss,
great - would love to hear it - is there a sound file around? Which kind of motor do you use for the horn? Unfortunately I have a lack of space in my office otherwise I'd like to go for a horn as WE16 in Mono-use - and for money issues I would give the Chinese replicas a chance, too.
Kloss,
have you ever audited the LM 555 next to original WE555 in same system?
Curious about, because I heard some pretty divers stuff about such a shoot out ...
I tried orignal we 555 the 3 I purchased not one matched the other. Thus the LM 555.
In Racon I use a NOS driver from WW2 it has similar diaphragm to WE. The W bins under are for bass and the t900a is the tweeter. I also have in room a WE 13A clone I built that I use LM 555 on I tried orignal WE 555 but couldn't find pair that was close to a match in spec. Thus bought the chinese LM 555 and tungar. The WE 16a while wonderful does sound like a bit like a driver hung on a furnace duct. For WE best sound in my opinion 13a 12a 22a 15a.
I have a blast with my mono systems I knocked this portable out for summer use.
Hey, Kloss. I notice your wind up console phonograph in the photo. I still have a Columbia wind up console folded horn phonograph about the same size and configuration as yours. What makes mine special to me is that my father bought it new in about 1927 or '28. I have restored it and it plays OK.

I bought mine for $200 delivered with about 500 78s it work very well but I only use on xmas and during power outages. Cool you have 1 your father owned. My Dad would go out of his way to find new cars or trucks that offered only AM radio....Pretty much the opposite of a audiophile.
Beautiful equipment guys.
