picked up a early pair of 15" reds yesterday and the cabs were rough so am thinking about getting new cabs. Any ideas that arent in China or cost over 3K?
Thanks, BC

Erm.. as Reds are 16 ohmers, there are no amplification issues with your gear??

I have a bunch of choices with amps here. 16 ohms is not a problem.
Reflex?
If in corners, an EBS box tuned to about 2/3rd Fs.
Or a QB3 tuned to Fs or just a bit below.
If I was way into organ music probably EBS, for most other music the QB3.
Looked long and hard at corner triangular enclosures for Tannoy 15s a good while back.
You'll need the drivers at listener ear height and the baffle needs to cross them in front of your seated head.

Perhaps you could take a look at the following link. The reds are similar to the golds.

Han's site has a selection.
Most any large 250+ litre reflex /ported design will Please :-)
Lotsa Box Sim programs will get you there, with a shape size that fits your Listening rooms.
Personally I'd avoid the Horn types unless Going for a full on Autograph type.
For example the Rect GRF has a couple of Ugly Humps in it's bass output that can be quite unpleasant. Wayyy too much work involved in those to have to Scrap the things entirely.. Yet Many have.
Clearly Simple and Big is the Ticket.
There is a fellow from Australia that has some scoop designs that I would look into.
If you have access to a cabinet maker (especially one w CNC capabilities), you could buy the plans. I think he also sells flat packs but cost to ship from down under is probably cost prohibitive.
PM me upon further interest and I'll try to dig up his email.
