Often times people will quote a cabinet as being say 90 liters. Since I don't know how to convert 90 liters into a measurement I can work with. I was wondering:
1) if there's a way to convert 90 liters into cubic feet.
2) why aren't cabinets defined as say 24 cubic feet instead of liters? Cubic feet can than easily be transferred into an enclosure of 4' H x 2' W x 3' D?
TIA!

Sorry I didn't respond back sooner but I was battling full-blown bronchitis and at 61 it's getting to be a more difficult battle to win with every passing year... Thankfully the battle is now won. I now would like to publically express my appreciation for everyone's help. THANK YOU ALL!

Lots of people GAVE you the answer. All are right within reason.
Here's the way to LEARN to figure it out and Remember.
1 liter is 1000cc or 'cubic centimeters'. That is a cube of 10x10x10 centimeters. 10 centimeters is 1/10 of a meter which is 39.37", so 1000cc = 3.937 CUBED or about 61 cubic inches. This is where you get your 3 liter CAR ENGINE displacing about 183 cubic inches.
So, you take your liters of enclosure, multiply by 61 THAN divide into 12x12x12 =1cubic foot or 1728 cubic inches.
Knowing HOW to do it is much better than simply being told.
Too much is never enough
Thanks pictureguy, I agree with you 100%! Knowing HOW to do it is much better than simply being told....

Or, a Liter is 1000 cubic centimeters which is even easier to use than inches. 10cm x 10cm x 10cm = 1L or 1000 cubic centimeters.
The decimal and the metric systems are easier to use than the imperial system for anyone that still has a standard amount of fingers.
It does require a degree of flexibility and admitting that you don't live at the center of the universe.
90 liters = 3.17832 cubic feet
Wow Rpower! It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Thanks for your time & help...

Type this into Google search: "convert 90 liters to cubic feet"
In the displayed calculator that pops up, you can change the number of one of the units to instantly see the change in the quantity of the other.
I use this method of unit conversion for just about all physical quantities as well as for currency conversions. Try it, it's very simple.
Thank you sideliner. I cannot believe I didn't think about trying that. Talk about a Homer Simpson moment?

I always type in what I want. For this one I typed "liters to cubic feet calculator" I got a site with the calculator and I entered 90 and got the result. I have a folder called calculators that are links to all kinds of conversion calculators.

Because out of 193 (give or take a couple) countries 190 use metric measurements.
Only the USA, Liberia and Burma (Myanmar) do not.
90L are 3.18 cubic feet.
I realize this but alas until the USA goes metric it's a problem we'll most likely continue having....

Off the top of my head 28 l per cu ft.
Rafaro
28.3 is what I use.
One cubic foot is 12 inches, cubed. There are 2.54 cm in an inch, so 30.48 cm, cubed. That's 28,317 cubic cm. A liter is 1000 cubic cm, so one cubic foot is 28.317 liters - I round to 30 liters so it's easy to remember.
It is purely a coincidence that a 12" speaker is about 30cm diameter...
Just about the entire world uses liters and meters.
There are gazillions of online volume converters available. You can put liters in and get cubic feet out.
Thanks C! I've now officially learned my lesson...

A quick easy way to convert volume measurements from one system of measurements to another is to use a conversion calculator such as that found at:
http://www.sciencemadesimple.net/conversions.html
type the dimension to be converted in the search box up on your tool bar (I use Firefox) and choose Google search.
