I thought the Crites cast frame was the one that had the little bump around 40hz. I've tried them in Khorns and Belles.
High sensitivity, wide dynamic range, low distortion, and smooth frequency response. Pwk

I couldnt find any specs on the woofers via crites site. I could easily have missed it. They are wonderful people to deal with. Reached on the phone quite quickly in my experience. Clearly they have a good grasp of all things Klipsch. With one heck of a following.
I know theres allot written about it on the net in many places. Clearly Klipsch forums being a big one.
Sounds the OP has a pretty decent understanding of things. Will see what other advice pops up.
Hope his project turns out splendid!
Thanks, folks. I've been doing comparisons on every 15" woofer I can find under $100. I've been doing software comparisons against the K33, Crites 1526, and Eminence Kappa 15C. These seem to perform very similar, given a couple more cubic feet in the box and tuned to about 30hz. They also happen to be crazy cheap. Has anyone else done any modeling on them?
The question you should be asking is has anybody measure the T/S parameters.
The 12" version of that driver is so far off that the only thing it is suitable for is an OB system.
Hello, fellow frugal diy-er here, what comes to my mind having attempted to use many costlier part substitutes is the additional labor and possibly materials required to execute the often marginal build. This could easily exceed the additional $100 (or so) for the established and known part. I wish you luck. JH
