I've had Le Cleac'h, tractrix, conical, and expo horns in my systems over the years. I agree with John on Le Cleac'h if you plan to only run an upper mid horn and tweeter above and no horn below. If you add a horn below someday, say a large mid or upper bass horn, the Le Cleac'h takes up too much valuable vertical space in which case Tractrix would work better spatially.

Yes, for now I plan to do a ported 15" or 18" pro-sound driver mating up to the mid-horn at about 500Hz. I don't think I have the space right now to consider bass horns... nor do I have the requisite $$$!

The Onken cabinet may be a good choice to consider if you need to go ported. The late Jean-Michel Le Cleac'h used them himself!
