Ive been using Jupiter, old, not so old and new type either on notch filter with Fostex rear loaded horns and now on high pass Fostex T500mk2 filters and allays felt that they have the kind of tone and spice i like. Im will be very soon experimenting Rike, that for the price, i was told it could be something i would like. The Russian K pio“s are price quality much better then all the marketing/plastic that is on the market. But Duelund are the best but overpriced.
hope it helps...

I am too cheap to spend that much. I may have eight or so years ago when I really believed lots of the marketing schtuff. I am using mars motor runs in my econo4pi. JH
Motor runs are a viable option.
More info on the speakers would help.
Dayton D250P/QSC horns with MCM Electronic 55-1880 15" woofers. haven't finished with Xover yet but just wanted some others opinion that have used them with horns.
Have you order any KBG or K40 pio caps yet? I have nothing against the jupiters and they are a hell of a great cap and to be honest,I think you may be cheating yourself out of some performance while spending tons of extra money that you may not have to..These are military grade caps built with the best possible materials and built to a high performance spec..Do a search on the web I think you may be surprised..What values do you need?
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.
two 6.8uf. the will be used for the horns section and two 15uf for the low end.
Thanks
Do it!
I build all my cables from extension cord, my pre-amp is a pot and a switch and I still have my 20 year old VPI.
BUT, I forced myself to blow $120 bucks on Duelund CAST resistors for the crossover mod when Wayne upgraded the horns and I got a cartridge I thought deserved the chance. Wow, was I glad I spent the money.
I'm still cheap, tho'.
Now just imagine what your surprise would be if you tried using good wire instead of extension cords for speaker wires, ICs etc.!?!?!
