FIRST :You panicked and already jumped the gun.
'May not be a bad tweeter at all, can't tell yet until you do this :
Switch amplifier channels ( or tweeters, left to right ) to be sure it really is a tweeter problem and NOT one misbehaving amplifier channel.
SECOND :
I suggest you do NOT repair your own, IF , upon swapping tweeters, the buzz stays with the tweeter !!!
You have insufficient experience, so it seems to me. Not a fault, just a fact !!
Tweeter will likely have to go back to Fostex for safest and best repair result. Relax, its only money.
Cheers,
Jeff Medwin

Jeff,
My mistake for not being more precise in explaining all the steps I took to "prove" it was the tweeter and not any other audio component. So yes, I have already switched T900a tweeters L to R and R to L. Unfortunately the buzz stayed with the original buzzing tweeter. Another thing I forgot to mention. I only hear the buzz when playing Prog-rock at extremely loud levels of 100dB+ like I did yesterday when I listened to the entire CD of: " Close to The Edge" by YES!
It's absolutely correct that I have insufficient experience with replacing diaphragms in compression drivers! However sending it to Fostex seems a bit extreme to me. What's wrong with bringing the T900a down to my local pro-music shop called " Guitar Center "? This seems like a very viable alternative to get the diaphragms replaced! I assume they MUST have the required expertise to replace diaphragms on compression drivers, no? After-all many of their guitar amps have compression drivers in them! Which they probably have to service once in awhile.
Seems this would not only be cheaper ---{ because I wouldn't have to pay for the shipping of these very heavy T900a tweeters, or the insurance to protect them }--- but it would also be quicker ---{ because it's right down the road from my house and they could tell me a call when the diaphragms arrive }--- then I could bring the tweeters down to them when it's time to fix them and continue to use them up until that time.
This would work, no? I'd still like to know if someone here could possibly tell me what these T900a diaphragms cost...

Madisound sells the Fostex horn you own, did you call them for info?
There might be an issue with dirt in slot where the diaphragm sits, or perhaps there is a gasket/adhesive issue or just a loose screw holding the horn together.
You could investigate.
There are also some videos on YouTube regarding speaker repair, you might consult those before going further.
Thanks I'll check and see if Madisound can provide any insight into what's buzzing and why!

After market? Those diaphragms are made from Magnesium. Contact Fostex. Best regards Moray James.

I'll definitely be using genuine Fostex Magnesium diaphragms!

Madisound is experienced in these matters. I'd start with them. Give them a call, give the tech all the troubleshooting steps you've gone through. Tell them you want it to end up "as new", and see what they recommend. It might cost you a few bucks more, but those are seriously good tweeters. Don't take it somewhere that'll put modified Piezo diaphragms in those.
You're 100% correct these T900a tweeters are very nice indeed. I've decided after reading your post and all the others that it's definitely worth paying what it will cost to bring them back to as new status. Thanks for your input & time...
