Has anyone heard these new drivers? Curious what the scoop is on them. How do they perform. How do they compare to other large format CD's out there.

Hi Josh,
I have a pair of the DCM's in Bill Woods' Acoustic Horns and I like them a lot. So far I have listened to the horns with TAD 2002's, 4001's , JBL 2440's and the BMS Neo drivers (anybody got a pair of Cogents they want to lend out for a while?`,;^) and I think the DCM's integrate better with the 515 bass reflex units I'm using for the bottom end.
Though they only go to ~10K I don't use a tweeter and they don't sound lacking at all. The sound of symbols bells triangles etc sounding far more like what you'd actually hear in a room than what you get from any higher ranging tweeter I've heard (Though you do have to dial the electronics in to suit them but I think that applies to anything else as well.) Don't let the fact that they are unknown scare you.
If you want more technical info I'd strongly recommend you call / email Bill . He knows horns better than nearly everyone and is very easy to talk to. He also is into sound reproduction altruistically (I think that's the right word for it) and will just as easily recommend something he doesn't sell if it suits your needs best. I will tell you though, his horns are wonderful.
Thanks for the response. I did expect to get a lot since they are relatively new but I though some who have played with them might chime in.
In all seriousness I wouldn't get a chance to try them out for a little while but they are on my radar.

One thing I forgot to mention is that the DCM doesn't use a diaphragm typical of compression drivers. It's a paper cone. I haven't opened mine up for a look but looking in through the bug screen it's obviously a different beast.
Also a note is that according to Bill the DCM performs a little better over it's own range than the DCX in the same range. It made sense when I heard it though at first I had been favouring the Co-axial unit.
