What to do with a bunch of cheap 10"s and a pile of ksn 1016s.
"Tiny Tapped Horn Line Array"
Sawdust happens today on box #1 using some scrap 3/4 ply.
Rough sketch started to look a bit like a Karlson. Hmmm...
Where's that camera???
Arrrg... never mind. Scatch this project.
Rough box screwed together sounds like a one note wonder. Might make a good warning siren horn. Snappy though.
Each box was to have a one 10" and 3x 1016s. I'd scaled down William Cowan's 60hz box and placed the 10 so the cone was facing the front just behind a array of 1016s. Figured I would have to pad the 1016s and maybe play with arcing them a bit in each box by pulling the center one back alittle.
I think the mids are hacked up by the reflections off the end of the box due to the cone recessed in the mouth.
May just build a vented box with the 1016s coaxially mounted.
The 10s do well in a one cu ft box. Just lack a bit in the mids.
Maybe a front flare to bring up the mids? Thoughts?
I have a dozen or more of these and maybe 25 or so 1016s.
cool -- - how many 1016's? long axis vertical?
Three trimmed 1016s mounted vert in each box from the top edge to the bottom so that when the boxes are stacked they are closely spaced.
Center one of the three was to be physically pulled back a bit to narrow the vert pattern slightly.
How the hell did my moniker get chaged so my email is publically displayed?
I don't really want this. Not cool. Anyway to delete this?
Did you type you email in the wrong box?
Dave
I don't think so. It changed since my last visit.
