Hi,
I know absolutely nothing about Hi-Rez, CD ripping etc. I own an Audio-gd Reference 7.1 DAC that sounds amazing. The problem is it doesn't have a USB connection. It does however have an I2S input on it's back (see photo at link below) is there a USB to I2S cable that I could possibly use? Finally what else would I need to purchase to be up and running? And remember I'm completely new to this audio genre...

Follow Ups:
Some models have their analog out doing double duty as a digital out with the right cable.
G,
Although I've been in audio 48 years now, I'm brand new to Hi-Rez. By Mac are you referring to using a Mac computer as a source? What other options for a source do I have?

As your digital source into the DAC
As well as SPDIF digital outputs. See URL
Wow thank you so much! I cannot believe I own and Audio-gd DAC yet didn't know about this piece. Thanks again...

From the picture, your DAC also has S/PDIF inputs -- coax and AES/EBU. I'm using an April Music Stello U3 Link , which has a USB input with coax and AES/EBU outputs. Furthermore, it reclocks the data to reduce jitter. I have been using it to stream digital to my DAC, which doesn't have USB, either.
The Stello U3 Link will convert PCM digital up to 24/192 and it sounds great in my system. You can buy it at Hi-Fi Heaven.
Best regards,
John Elison
Thanks John I really appreciate your help!

Thanks for your help and input! I didn't realize how many options there are available to me and how very little I actually know about this format of audio...

By the way I have a Master 7 and if you have a audio-gd dac I would go with there recommendation. Send King Wa an email and let him suggest the best thing to do

Alan after seeing the Audio-gd DI-2014, that's exactly what I did! But thanks for the help...
