And Vol IV?
I have them all in my 'Favorites' on QOBUZ.
Great recordings.
Audite is a great label.
Follow Ups:
I'm listening to Vol. 1 right now Ivan. The sonics aren't quite as good, but the music is very nice. I bought Vol. 2 as well, but it's still in the wrapper.
A review mentioned that Vol 3 was somewhat better sounding than Vol 1. The first two have "more famous" music. I plan to purchase Vol 1 in the future, but not soon. My budget is limited! Try one and let us know.
Peace,
Tom E
I found vol 1 on Spotify premium. Even with spotifys 320bps it sounded very good. Big, Lush and very dynamic. Just ordered #3. Could not find on Tidal
Thanks for the recommendation
Alan
I have Spotify and Deezer Elite on my Sonos. I started to type the title and Vol 3 popped up from Spotify. Deezer had Vol 2.
Agree...Sounds good on Spotify.
I also loaded Deezer's Vol 2 in the queue. Haven't got that far yet. Interested in what 1411 will sound like when I get there.

I had to give up on classicsonlinehd because it kept chrashing on me. Don't know why because Tidal and Spotify premium both work fine
Alan
What platform were you trying? PC, iOS, Android?
PC laptop using windows 8.1 over wifi. Bought a new Netgear router but that didn't make any difference. My interconnect connection is 15mbps and was told that should work. I loved the site but just too many problems
Alan
I guess I may be a little more tolerant of problems which I consider part of the "early adopters tax" on new sites. The "player" underneath the web pages is quite sensitive and tends to confuse/break easily. I'm hoping they work on improving it. Other than just stopping, its worst trick is to skip tracks when everything isn't aligned properly.
I've had problems that I can probably blame on my PC, some because my network connection isn't always a nice, clean 10M, and some because the classicsonlinehd servers aren't always able to keep up. I have more problems at night which could be either the internet provider or the application servers.
I'm hoping they get things working more smoothly so folks will subscribe which yields more money to make things work more smoothly (circle of life).
When it does work, it provides excellent sound and a wide variety of offerings. I'll give it a while longer since all I have is it and spotify. I'll let folks know if things improve.
Thanks for your patience. I ran out and I am back to Tidal although that is not perfect either. I have purchased a wifi range extender which is helping but tidal still stops now and then. I will look forward to your experiences with the Naxos site

I read somewhere that Tidal does not support gapless playback. What is the status on this?
Thanks.
No gaps.
Sadly also piss-poor search, so it's next to useless for classical music.
I just downloaded the PC app and used the web app with Chrome, and I can say that Tidal on my system is not gapless. Take Noriko Ogawa's Paganini Rhapsody. There are huge pauses between tracks in the supposed-to-be seamless music. It is stopping to reload on every track. For most music this is not a problem, but in classical, especially, it is fatal. Just imagine the last three movements of Beethoven's Sixth, or any other performance like Petrouchka with multiple index tracks with pauses. This is the problem that took iTunes and Spotify a while to overcome, and the solution isn't easy for lossless and hires streaming (classicsonlinehd.com has a pretty complex solution for the gapless problem).
On the plus side, Tidal seems to have a good sized classical library and it sounds very good, and when they overcome the gapless issue, my Spotify account could become unnecessary.
streaming in WiFi (5GHz) to my Apple MacBook Air. I have the album cache size set to 50MB in the OS-X app setting.I have not tried streaming from a browser as I do not have Chrome on my laptop.
I also have the SONOS Beta of TITLE app running with one or two drop-outs for a few seconds only, perhaps on ever few hours of playing.
Got another title I can test?

I loaded the iOS Tidal app on my iPod, and the gaps are there but not as big as on my PC. You can try any album of the Rite of Spring that has multiple tracks for each of the two movements. The Stravinsky conducts the Rite and Firebird on Columbia is a good example on Tidal.
OK, perhaps a millisecond of hesitation between the tracks, yes you can tell when TIDAL goes to a new track and no, there is not even a hint of hesitation when playing the same Stravinsky LP on QOBUZ.
But then QOBUZ takes over 10% of the disk space (Automatique 10% de l'espace disque libre) for cache.
The gaps on the iPod are less under Tidal than either the web browser mode using Chrome or the PC app (the worst of the bunch). iTunes, Spotify, and classicsonlinehd do not exhibit any gaps or delays. I have submitted a customer support ticket to Tidal. Since it is not a bug report but it is the weekend I do not expect an answer until Monday or so.
I met the Norwegian guys who started TIDAL while they were exhibiting at the RMAF this last October and they were very familiar with QOBUZ and the technology being used for streaming so I would be surprised if they didn't what their stuff performing at least as well as QOBUZ.
That said, the search function on TIDAL is a shabby joke and I wish I had kept the business cards of they guys I met at RMAF so I could complain.
I received a prompt answer this morning from Tidal support about gapless playback:
Hello Spencer,
Thank you for contacting TIDAL customer support.
Gapless playback is a feature that will be integrated soon. We are aware of the demand for this feature, and we are sorry for the inconvenience.
Best Regards,
Colin

It will be interesting when and how they implement this feature. I'm going to keep my subscription for now because they do have most of the major classical labels covered which classicsonlinehd.com does not. Between the two, about the only thing I will have to buy is Hyperion and BluRay!
I use TIDAL mostly through the SONOS system as the have a SONOS app for TIDAL now in beta testing.
My main streamer is QOBUZ as they have a much more effective search function and for some reason now have most of the Chandos label back available again for some reason. Perhaps they paid their bills! ;-)
My PC connection to classicsonlinehd.com is via ethernet cable. That may make a difference if you are on the fringes of your router. In fact, it might be worth the effort to see if a wired connection makes any difference. I also use my iPod Touch with the classicsonlinehd app to listen to lossless files. The problem with the iOS implementation is that it was written for the iPhone 5 or above. These devices have 1G of RAM while even the new iPod touch has only 512M. This means that the iOS version runs out of memory on the iPod when trying to play anything above 24/44.1, but works most of the time on 16/44.1 files. It also blows up when a search returns many items. I have worked with their Help Desk on this, and I don't think they're going to reengineer their app for the 512M memory implementation.
I also have the app on my Samsung Galaxy Tab4, and it works fine even with 24/96 files. It's just that the headphone output on the Samsung is quite deficient sound-wise compared to the iPod. In fact, using the iPod's headphone out with my new KEF headphones sounds very, very good.
For streaming hi-res music. If you really want to do that, use a wired connection. No buffering, stuttering, etc. WiFi is okay for simple browsing, useless otherwise...

Have you heard the Auralic aires streamer. Heard it at CES doing wifi streaming with Tidal and it was superb. I now have Tidal streaming from my laptop without any problems but it took work. The final thing that made a difference was changing the default channel on my router from 6 to 11. Seems most wifi devices default to channel 6 and interfere with each other. Even your smartphone will cause problems. Once I switched to channel 11 the problems went away
