Has anyone heard the yamaha 2100 sacd or the teac 3000? These are the two on my short list. Thanks

If you're looking for a new (at least to you) SACD player (that plays DVD-A and CD too), look for a Pioneer DV-79AVi. You'll be amazed by how good it sounds - better than players many times it's original price. Thus you'll get better hi-res sound and money in your pocket...... I know, I went that route and have never been sorry.
Just my (adjusted for inflation) $2

It sounds like English, but I can't understand a word you're saying.
I' m a fan of pioneer as I have a DVD 45, pioneer d9 sacd player and a d6 sacd player. Your post interests me as a upgrade to my home DVD player. Thanks.
The 47 AVi is a nice DVD player as well.
I will concur w/ John-
the "79" was more musically-oriented, while, the "59" is a killer DVD player.
I also have the s2000. But no experience with the 2100, so sorry I'm not much help. It's a nice piece and I enjoy using it (external build quality is nice). But I prefer the sound of my Sony xa5400. Looks like the Yamaha 2100 uses an updated circuit so it probably has improved sound. Good luck.
You own a very nice system- Brewmaster.
I am impressed that you still listen to a Sony ES cd spinner!
Hawkmoon, have you considered the OPPO BDP-105D universal CDP?On a hunch earlier this year I replaced my $9k Esoteric UX-3SE UCDP with the $1299 OPPO BDP-105D for a surprising and very nice musical improvement.
I say on a hunch because the reviews weren't giving me much to go on, except that it was a nice performer here and not so nice there and always comparing it to like-priced competitors. But they all seemed to agree it was a Swiss army knife regarding capabilities. I probably spent more time reading between the reviewers' lines to consider its real potential. Had it not been for OPPO's 30-day satisfaction guarantee I would not have tried it.
I now use the OPPO as a music server too via my iPad and OPPOS very nice app and for the past 10 months have been extremely pleased with its performance including the occasional movie as DVD's with the Darbee option brings a much cleaner picture. It also plays blue ray.
I think it also worth mentioning that at the time I was comparing it to my Esoteric, I was only playing CD's via the disc drive. Some time later I started using the USB input port and external music for another very nice improvement still.
The OPPO's perforamnce easily surpassed my Esoteric in every category, except for the bling bling. This really surprised me because I consider quality of construction and rigidity and Esoteric's infamous VRDS transport very important when it comes to performance and the Esoteric really shines in the construction department. But it still wasn't enough.
Visually people may not take my system quite as seriously with the OPPO as with the Esoteric. But then again, I've never been for trying to win performance arguments in forums. Especially if it's gonna' cost me an additional $7700 to aesthetically impress people I don't know and will never hear my system.

Thanks for the advice. I'm looking for a dedicated CD/Sacd player as an upgrade to my Pioneer D9 player. I have an old Vacuum State XB-940 that I may get upgraded with a new Terra Firma clock but otherwise the Yamaha and Teac were on my radar. I figure when I go to a computer playback system I will get a good DA converter. However, I'm in no hurry to do that. Is your oppo stock?
Yes, completely stock.
hawkmoon- do you have a local Audio shop there in Cleveland?
I have the 2000 model.
What do you want to know?
what other gear is in your system, including cables/cords, Robert J?
Accuphase Integrated.
Sometimes use the Emotiva DAC.
Wireworld XLR interconnect
Acrolink Power cord Yamaha CD.
XLO Power cord on Accuphase
Replaced the Sony 777 with the Yamaha
Gruv Glide for a Basis Turntable
Very nice system -Robert J. How many cd players did you demo prior to buying the Yamaha? Did you consider an Accuphase cd/sacd player?
Looking for members that have heard the 2100 or the teac. Not many reviews of the new yamaha series. I'm sure your enjoying the 2000.
you can tell at a glance who it's made by.
Me as well, on my short-list are the Yamaha 1000, 2000 and 3000 cd spinners.
