Because it has a FFGP inside I suppose updates could conceivably improve sound quality.
My HAPZ1 is updating as we speak.

Vtuner is already fixed. It's been back in action for a couple weeks.
The latest firmware is supposedly a network security update. IMO, the firmware upgrade just prior to the one on the 28th, was a noticeable upgrade in sound as well as usability (exterior HDD upgrade!).
Is it similar to Universal Player Updates, or do you have to go to the Web Site to Download,
then Transfer to Z1?
I updated mine wirelessly using the Network update command on the Sony.

FYI:
As of 10/28, there is also a new HAP transfer software download available. 1.11 for Windows machines.
I didn't notice it when downloading the firmware, but it is there. On the UK site, they have the date incorrect, but if you click on it, it will tell you the new info. The USA site is correct.
