Not sure if you're asking whether iTunes can accommodate 24/96 files (it can) or whether you can download hi-res music from the iTunes store (you can't, at least not yet). iTunes itself can easily accommodate files up to 24/192, but you need to make sure that Audio MIDI (if you're on OS X) is set appropriately--see Roseval's post below. This can be a pain sometimes, especially if you play a mixture of music encoded with different sample rates. If you use a third-party music player, such as BitPerfect (which is what I use), Audirvana, or Amarra, it will switch the setting automatically, so you don't have to worry about it. (And they sound better than plain-vanilla iTunes, too!)

It's still in the rumor stage right now. One guess is that they'll announce it at the Worldwide Developers' Conference in San Francisco next month. We'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, click the link below for more info.
