Pink Floyd producer & engineer, James Guthrie recently demonstrated his new
Roger Waters' album "Amused To Death" mastered to SACD in 5.1 Surround Sound at the Princeton University.
It was revealed that a Sadie workstation was used for the mastering process, and as some of you might know, the Sadie puts mastered source files through PCM at 96/24. SADiE at one time did have a DSD workstation but it was abandoned a few years ago. It is unknown why the producer of this SACD reissue didn't use a dsd capable mastering workstation.
As one long time dsd advocate puts it:
"......Their current approach leaves PCM fingerprints all over the output....."

Using Q-Sound.

Geoff
Sorry to hear this news but I'm still going to purchase as ANY Floyd in high resolution surround is great to these ears, even if it's from 96/24.
Happy listening!
