I knew the remasters were dsd, but i didnt think they were ever released as sacds. What do you make of this ebay listing?
Follow Ups:
The Holland re-masters were done in DSD but released as redbook discs.
I am pretty sure that they were in 09: I bought all of them.
I had heard that Eno's deal with Sony to release SACD discs fell through. I would be very leery of buying such a thing until more information comes out. If there are any SACDs coming, we will be hearing more....
"Asylums with doors open wide,
Where people had paid to see inside,
For entertainment they watch his body twist
Behind his eyes he says, 'I still exist.'"
I emailed the seller asking him if it had an SACD logo on the disc and he just replied that it said DSD and that his Sony ES SACD player lights up the DSD light when it plays.
Chris
Saw that! Still skeptical. What does he mean that the "DSD" light lights up? My old Sony ES sacd player only had an "sacd" light, not a "DSD" light.
Well, I guess I'm not the one who has to worry about having paid $112 for a disc you could buy for $20 (are the 2009 dsd remasters still in print)...
I've not seen it or heard anything about it.
I did buy all the Eno remasters on CD when they came out a few years ago. Quite a well done series, although I do slightly prefer the original Japanese CDs. Namely
Here Come the Warm Jets - E'G Records Virgin VJD-28059 JPN
Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) - E'G Records Virgin VJD-28060 JPN
Another Green World - E'G Records 32VD-1114 (Toshiba black triangle) JPN
Regards,
Geoff
I'm guessing it's the original cd in an sacd case.
Have it on vinyl so I'm not gonna spend $20+ to find out for sure!
