Great album. Gary Peacock should have stayed longer!!!
I have the vinyl, which sounds great, and the chemistry is there. Wish there were more albums by them. I'm going to spring for it.
Follow Ups:
This is really Fantastic! Bass left, piano center, drums right, eveyone seems to taking up their actual amount of space, very natural sounding stereo spread.
I turned it up a bit after a few minutes, and suddeny they were right there! Gary Peacock is like Scott LaFaro crossed with Richard Davis on this, super Angular and crisp articulation, really clean sounding Bass and it gets his Tone great.
It had me smiling right away with Little LuLu, and such great Bass lines, just fantastic SACD. I had the record in high school, and this was worth the $ for me, but it really is worth checking out. I think it sounds great, and it's really a great album, a unique
moment of what Could have been ... And it will make your Stereo sound better than usual, you might find!
Also got Graceland Anniversary LP. Crown of Creation, and Nightfly LPs. Nightfly skipped 5 times on the first half of side 2, so it's going back. Graceland sounds great, but Crown of Creation isn't so hot, only one tune I liked, Triad. Oh, also got Best of Grateful Dead Vol1. What a terrible band. Lame in every respect. Heard lots on KPFA Dead to the World show. Don't get them at all. I expected Electric Stockhausen, from the Electric Cool-aide Acid Test! I'll send it back too, of I can.
Have you checked out the JSACD? It sounds rich and detailed. The multichannel rears are quite aggressive.

I had confused with Symbiosis! I'd love it if that made it to SACD. This one sounds good, a little tape hiss on solo piano intro, I hope Trio 64 is quieter. Will listen to that one later.
I prefer the earlier trio that is well represented on SACD. Still this is a fantastic album and i agree -- Gary Peacock is amazing.

I agree about that original trio! I never liked Chuck Israels, and Gary had that angular style back then. What if...? He's ( Gary ) is also on the first 2 Clare Fischer albums.
I'm also getting the BE with Symphony Orch, will report next week.
Have you heard Gary P's playing on Life Time? It's more "out" but very tasteful.

I don't have that one! I have Spring, and used to have Fucshia Swing Song.
Those were the days!!!
I like Spring more, actually. It has Ron Carter on bass. FSW is a classic--wish APO would do more with Blue Note's more adventurous titles.

Spring has Gary, I checked. Ron never played free like that!

I have several Marylin Crispell cds, on ECM, with Gary and Paul Motian. Love that stuff, except for the Annette Peacock vocal...

Is the Vinyl still available?
