This morning I went for:
Multichannel Bernstein - Mahler No. 9
Keith Jarrett - Death and the Flower
Steve Kuhn - Quiereme Mucho
Perfect for a Saturday morning.

Wonderful performance and sonics-I just ordered Fischer's Schubert 9th based on this. I've been on something of a Mahler binge, listened to the 6th on Telarc with Benjamin Zander and the Philharmonia on Telarc the other day.Somewhat off topic, but I just watched Chariots of Fire on Blu Ray last night and Vangelis' iconic score has never sounded better than it does on the DTS HD master 5.1 track of this disc.

Why oh why are you only asking about SACD discs?? Is this or not
The Hi-Rez Highway?? I am spinning some fine Blu-ray discs now!
There are so few audio only Blu-Ray discs
True and most of the audio only ones are by Naxos that do have a fantastic number that can be made available "If it catches on".
We all have a chance to help that catch on-let's not blow that chance as we did with SACD by not purchasing them unless giveaway sales. Hi-rez
has to be paid for..
You can listen only-no video- to the new Tosca on ArtHaus Blu-ray
#108 031 though then you will not see a simply gorgeous production
that at most places can not afford to do it that well!

this week:
Benny Waters; "Live at the Pawnshop"
Previn, Brown &Pass; "After Hours" (What a collection of talent)
Neither are quite as good sonically as the ones I picked up at THE Show and recently reviewed, but both are very good and the performances first rate.

Yesterday
J.C. Bach selected clavier sonatas Olga Martynova
J.S Bach some of the cello suites Martin Ostertag
Schubert string quartet in B flat D112 Parkanyi quartet.
Perfect music for a cold rainy day.
Also plenty jazz but not on SACD.
Today??? I'll think about it while drinking my first double espresso,
yes it is still raining.
That sounds just weird to those of us who live in the states.
And it is raining again after a 2 days break.
Cape Town can be very wet in winter, and this year is definetely a wet winter.
So today was 100 % Mozart incl lots of Linn SACD's
I live in Wyoming, elevation 5400 feet, and I don't ski.

Did not know of that one. Can you elaborate?

Of course, with a pianist of that skill level, and the greatest jazz composer (in my opinion) you can't go wrong.

I know you said that it was your opinion, but you have to admit that it is very questionable, better than say Monk or Ellington!
Yes, Shorter's tunes speak to me on a level beyond Duke or Monk, especially the ballads. There was a reason Blakey and then Miles hired Shorter, used him as a sort of arranger and adopted his compositions as a major part of their repertoire. Shorter had a knack for harmonic resolution and melodic direction that led to some of the greatest music I've ever heard. With a solid six decades of leadership in jazz, Shorter can be revered in the same manner as Monk, Duke or any other jazz legend you can name.

Still breaking in my Esoteric UX-3, but played SACD's today in this order: Pink Floyd Dark Side of The Moon, Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here, Black Sabbath Paranoid (shm sacd), Roger Waters In The Flesh (double sacd). Now, back to the Isotek burn in cd.
I throw my windows open wide and call to you across the sky.
