Big smile here in the Smart household as La Fontaine finally arrives after 13 weeks delivery time.
Absolutely stunning build and design and all I can say is it's as smooth and refined as you could hope for. More impressions later and some photos.
For a great review check out hifimusic.co.il (use google translate) and the Polish review on AA's website.
And it does integer mode too! Oh happy day. DSD coming soon I believe.

What is the "La Fontaine" recommended retail price?
As the saying goes, it's probably too expensive. List price $25,000? Too rich for my blood!
Great looking disc player, though.

Too rich for my blood, Patricia Barber.
Yes, the player is expensive and fortunate to have come by some equity release otherwise it would have been out of my reach.
The look, fit and finish of the player is jewel-like. I can't believe how they can get the curves and the satin black finish to such a high level from a piece of metal. It has to be seen in the flesh as the pics don't do it justice. Only wish the remote could look the same. A silver plastic remote, (a Sarkozy), with a black player, come on guys.
More impressions to come. Stay tuned.

She is pretty amazing.....
And likely, - is your player. Having heard AA's "top tier" players for a number of years, - I would highly doubt that it is not among the very best.
And that's the thing, yes, it is an expensive player, but, what if it is the best, or close, it does NOT make it the most expensive.

Lucky enough to see her live at the Jazz cafe london a while back, she walked out after 2 songs because of the chat and then finally persuaded to come back when the audience where told off. I doubt patricia will ever come back to london.
My fave patty track at the moment is You are my Sunshine which she turns into a beautiful emotion laden song from a very simple throwaway tune. Stunning.
Yes the Israeli site is another great review and I must admit i have never been convinced when reviewers say 'it sounds like analogue' ..this player does. It is a different sound to the Prestige and the Capitole, much more natural, I'll have to get used to it. So glad I stayed with AA and didn't buy the Esoteric K01.
Miles, on the player right now, you must listen to the K2HD version of KOB. It's like it was recorded yesterday, not 40 years ago.
Pics to come later.

sounds like she is taking herself too seriously. She is really good, - but.... (from my personal POV), always tough for an old, washed-up, songwriter like me to hear. As an artist, you gotta stick your middle finger up and say this is "what I think is great, and no one is going to influence it." On the other hand, - you're no better than anyone else. "Socrates and Milhouse Nixon both went the same way through the kitchen."
Anyway, - she is great, - and she loves her drummer, so she can't be all bad...
That player sounds like it's wonderful. You have me desperate to hear it now....
Cheers,
