At Arkiv Music.....it is a steal. This weekend only, apparently. Yes, the box is all-SACD. I purchased this set as it was released - one of the best Beethoven cycles ever.
I ordered the set from MDT. Looking to save a few dollars. Already have the 6th and 9th.
Tonight I tried ripping a copy of BIS-SACD 1591, Grieg Peter Gynt to my harddrive. It locked up the computer drive, took restarting to eject it. Only damaged discs have done this before. MCH hybrids have ripped without an issue.
The disc plays fine in my Marantz Sa-11S2. At least the 2 channel DSD layer. Have other had a problem with this disc?

It's $43.98 at Amazon right now for the import sacd set. Though as both a Beethoven and SACD fan----I did order it from Arkivmusic myself just now to save a FEW $$. ;)
Regards,
Joel
Hope it is good!!
Thanks.
Coincidently, I listened to the Beethoven 9th just a couple of nights ago. I enjoyed it immensely. The "classical" tilted interpretation is *very* different from the Haitnink 9th that I also enjoy very much. (There was a very spirited discussion in the forum a couple of years ago about these two Beethoven 9th interpretation).
The 9th is the only performance I have of the Vanska set so I'm ordering the box set. I also have the most enjoyable Haitnik box set.

That's a bargain
Thanks. Cost came to $30.13 *including* shipping to US.

I also purchased this as it came out. I really liked the sound myself. As with most Beethoven cyles that I have heard, there are always interpretations of some movements that are not my personal favorites, but I think it is worth having.
