Seems to be based on lower model than sa11. sa15 with cirrus chips
your link points to the Pearl which is a great sounding deck. Fits in between the Salls1 and the salls2 sound wise. The Pearl's strong point is it's ability to create or recreate bass IMPACT, thump and thud. The SA11s2 kicks it up another notch. Overpowering on my headphone rig but just right in my main speaker system. Having had all 3 decks in my headphone and speaker system, the Pearl would be my first choice in my headphone rig and the SA11S2 in my main speaker rig. Best headphone source I ever heard.

I was thinking about going for Sony XA5400 SACD for a headphone setup. Do you guys feel Pearl would beat Sony for that purpose, or even SA15S2? Can't do comprehensive comparison like I used to - hardly any dealers left in Dallas area. For $3k vs Sony $1.5k - it's a tough sell for stereo-only machine.
Oh and I was thinking about going with build in headphone amp for my San 600 for now, especially if I spend more than $1.5 for a SACD player. Bad idea?
Marantz are overpriced incomplete players that ignores MCH SACD which sounds better than Stereo SACD . Sony XA5400ES is the best value CD/SACD player on the market.
