We're using the DAD AX-24 in DSD mode except when in-use as a pcm converter, and very occasionally in DXD mode. We're also using the EMM Labs converters right alongside the DAD in addition to our Prism converters. Lots of great tools to get the job done!EMM doesn't manufacture for the pro market anymore. DAD gives us an excellent-sounding alternative that's also extremely versatile in recording formats. Our "La Boheme," recorded LIVE in-concert with Robert Spano/Atlanta Symphony Orchestra/Chorus and Guests is among our first recordings made with the AX-24. We just had an advance "preview" of La Boheme on Thursday in NYC for a large group of reviewers with lots of excitement about the release there! I also used the AX-24 as the first eight channels (piano & keyboard tracks) of a 32-track DSD session with Hiromi's Sonicbloom at Allaire Studios, recorded through their Air Montserrat Neve board. The remaining 24 channels of converters were EMM Labs. All converters fed a Sonoma 32-track DSD system set up and run by Gus Skinas of the Super Audio Center. Above is a photo from the Hiromi session illustrating the studio setup with the first 16 channels of converters in the studio. There are glass optical links to the Sonoma system in the control room.

It sounded OK at the "preview" but the setup was far from ideal. At home, however, it was quite impressive.
