Sony has provided a Windows Media Player plug-in which can be freely distributed to non-VAIO PC users running Windows XP/Vista and Windows Media Player 10/11. The plug-in allows for playback of DSD audio through realtime conversion to PCM. Including the installation for the plug-in is an option when burning a DSD Disc using DSD Direct and SonicStage Mastering Studio.
Happy listening...

Do you know at what sample rate and bit rate is the resulting PCM?
Unfortunately it is not 1 bit playback.
Have a look at the readme. DSD is only reproduced in Vaios; otherwise 2496
fmak,
I've copied the files into my Korg MR-1,a hdd recorder which can record and play dsd files(there's a DSD converter inside). It works very well! But i'm unable to play correctly the DXD/wave file on my PC.
I have found a couple of programs that will play DXD (352/384) wav files. I believe SAWstudio and Adobe Audition will do it. You might also want to check WaveLab and Samplitude.
I'm just happy as a pig in sh*t with my Pyramix DSD system!!
Regards,
Bruce
