I also have that disc, and I'd say that no matter what format used it would still be a killer. Heard it's out on vinyl again, but can't locate a copy so far.

  This recording was just made this past July 2007. It's been out on vinyl *again*?
  
  By the way, as great as this disc is in two channel, the sound quality/realism is ratcheted up considerably in multi-channel.

    You are right, I had that recording mixed up with a couple others. But the West Of 56th recording is a killer.
