Jack,
"The Author works for Microsoft" was the statement. I disputed this, by pointing out the FACT that the author does not work for Microsoft. If pointing out facts is now considered a "hidden agenda", then everything factual contains a hidden agenda. You are confusing the editor (who makes the publish decision for MSNs website), with the author (who wrote the article for general distribution/printing by AP customers). The author has no idea who will use the story, only that it will be used.
As far as bias towards Redbook vs. High Resolution formats at Microsoft you're mistaken. I have a few friends who work at Microsoft, and they will be behind one of the HR formats. You can guess which one for yourself.
I own both formats too. My preference is for DVD-Audio, but then again I ike multi-channel music. There is more material that I enjoy in Multi-channel DVD-A than Multi-channel SACD.
