a my receiver then I will not go that route. The bottom line for me is that I can get a full refund on the Viso and buy the HD600's now instead of buying them in the future and eating the price of the Viso.
Fwiw Stereophile said the HD600 sounds good with a mid price receiver so I am still kicking it around.
Who knows?....

That depends on the receiver. With my Denon 3805, the 600s were clearly underpowered. The sound was quite thin. With my current Denon receiver (x4000), the 600s are listenable and not thin, but I still prefer how they sound with my headphone amp (Burson HA-160).
True. My old NAD 304 really couldn't drive them, not could my Antique Sound Labs amp.
However, my Adcom GFP-555 (original) does a pretty good job.
