There appear to be two different Sennheiser Momentum products out there. The one I have (see link) fits rather snugly over my ears. The other one is cheaper and is billed as "on-ear":
http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Momentum-On-Ear-Headphone-Black/dp/B00DKPXU9A/ref=sr_1_2?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1429284107&sr=1-2&keywords=sennheiser+momentum
I haven't heard this iteration.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm getting the cheaper ones just to use at work. I hope they're comfortable, and I'm sure they sound better than the earbuds I'm using now.
By the way, your amazon link was $10.00 cheaper than where I was going to buy them so thanks. Except I had $80.00 worth of CDs and records in my cart, so you cost me $70.00. Thanks.
:~)
The updated version of the "over ear" Sennheiser Momentum is now available. This is why the older version (in the Amazon link) is now selling for less than $200.
The new Momentum 2 on- ear headphones now have bigger earcups. The original (now discounted) version did not always fit those with bigger ears very well. If you have very big ears, you might want to consider buying the newer Momentum 2.
1. The around-ear version I linked to and own: around $175.
2. The cheaper on-ear version I linked to: around $90.
3. The around-ear Momentum 2.0: around $350.
4. The cheaper on-ear Momentum 2.0: around $230.
5. The wireless Momentum 2.0: around $450.
No wonder we're all confused.
Happy listening,
Jim

The new 2.0 versions will surely be found for much less than the MSRPs of $230/$350/$450, if you wait a bit and/or look around a bit.

Do those fit AROUND the ear, or still on top like the on-ear ones? I have the V-moda XS which is on-ear. I tried the over-ear V-moda that I REALLY wanted to like but they were quite uncomfortable. My XS get annoying after a while as they pinch the ears back while resting on them. The most comfortable for me are over-ear versions that rest on the head and the ear is inside. (around-ear?)
The Momentum version I linked to and own fits around, not on top of, my not-particularly-large ears. I've never tried the cheaper version and so I can't say how they would fit.
Happy listening,
Jim

Which ones did I try on at BestBuy then? They looked like those smaller on-ear ones but had the leathery pads rather than the felt types. I think they were called over-ear but they only sat on my ear like my Vmoda XS does. They were more comfortable though! Felt softer with minimal pressure, but they were closer to $200 in the store. Darn Sennheiser! This reminds me of the Grado Reference/Statement, Statement/Reference, Reference/Reference and Statement/Statement cartridges.
I know. I own a Grado cartridge, and I couldn't even tell you which one it is without looking at my systems page.
Happy listening,

Yes, I think they do. I linked to a photo of the on-ear that I think is pretty clear goes around the ear. Amazon is $10 cheaper if you are buying.
