Too bad there is no U.S. Quad importer.

Most intriguing. Is there a Quad headphone in the works as well? Would love to hear what it could do even though I just traded for a Bryston BHA-1 recently (and am listening to it right now, in fact). Visually, it has all the classic lines of Quad.
Wonder what the specs are. If it will handle lower impedances, might be interesting to mate with something like Lowthers.

Do you really think a headphone amp will drive your Lowthers?
Very possibly. Lowther are extremely efficient and I have heard them being powered by a cheap old 6-transistor vintage radio in a demo. Even a K'horn may mate.
When I sold McIntosh, the C28 was around with its dedicated headphones amp. When a buyer was cash strapped, wanted the best and liked the Klipsch we showed the amp could drive all the offerings at the time with no power amp and at levels sufficient to make most persons happy. The downside was that later it was next to impossible to convince the customer he needed that 100 watt amp. Just a few years ago I was driving my Heresy IIs directly from my C28 while my MC2105 sat idle.
