I just ordered the Magni/Modi combo. For office use I liked the smaller size of the units, and certainly the price is reasonable. But it might be a gateway drug ; )

Very well built, very well packed. Don't know how they do it for such costs.Brought my K701s in today. VERY first impression is good. Certainly a step up from my first generation Nuforce Icon DAC/amp. By far. But still rough around the edges. Competent, but just satisfactory. Not hifi, but still musical (the most important component). Bass lacks. But then again, there's the cost.
I wonder if I step up the Schiit chain the goods will get better? Or do I go hifi? I've been on this carousel before and I know now it'a all about balancing budget and priorities. there's always better.
In any case, I'll let it run all weekend. Except for speakers, I do not believe in break in (I'm jaded). But we'll see.

Nice! I never had any complaints with bass on my BiFrost/Lyr combo using the 701's. In fact it is tunable depending on what tubes you use (ECC88 or E88CC). I even upgaded the BiFrost with the Uber Analog upgrade and immediately noticed an improvement in warmth and impact.
For the record, the afformentioned two Schiit products and the Gungnir, are the only ones where I have the experience of "listening" in a headphone or 2 channel audio set up.
Congrats. Should be good!
I own both the Magni & the Modi ... but I use them for different applications. Magni for CD player Amp & Modi for a PC DAC that runs to Audio-engine 2 Powered Desk top speakers.
