in house now. Great phones. Burning in but they have a very open sound, unlike many closed phones I have hard. Comfortable and enjoyable.
Powering with the HiFiman 901 and new discrete card, very nice or using the fi.Q amp (extremely good amp), the sound is revealing but not in an amusical way.
Getting cold in Dillingham, AK. Clear skies and in the teens. Full moon looking down with a bright fact.

I just bought a pair. I finally could not resist.
Right out of the box they are quite nice, but broken in they are even better. I have had a chance to listen to a broken-in pair many times and they are truly wonderful.
I had a chance to A/B a pair of Audeze LCD-XCs against the Fostex TH900s for a reasonable time across a range of music with a decent amplifier. If money were no object, I would have chosen the Fostex cans anyway. I was happy the Fostex were substantially less (about 40% less in my case).
Using them with mostly with my ADL X1 portable amp, though expect to use them more with my Bottlehead Mainline at home.
I'm currently in the market for a pair of TH900's. I'm pretty excited to ABX them to my D7000's.
I received my TH900's yesterday and all the descriptions are spot on. They beat the D7000 hands down. There is actually a bigger difference than I expected. Absolutely more refined, detailed, and spacious. Better instrument separation, way better highs, and tighter bass (WAAAAY punchier)...the list goes on & on.
I guess it's time to sell my beloved D7000's.
Has anyone compared these to the Denon AH-D7000? Is it worth the upgrade?
I enjoyed my time demoing a pair.
some run in time as they go through some hills and peaks as they burn in but they have turned the corner for now and are sounding very nice. Extremely fast and transparent. I look forward to a few more hundred hours. I have some ESW 10 JPN that took forever to burn in. Very nice now but not as good as these but for a long time I wouldn't even use them and just used them to burn in amps and so on.
Very comfortable to wear as well.
Down to 2 degrees tonight here in Dillingham, AK. Days are getting short, maybe 6 hours now.

I'm a relatively new owner of the TH900s . . .mostly listening to them via tweaked out kit/diy tube amps . . . very comfortable for my big paleolithic sized skull . . . my Senn 600s are vice like compared to the comfort of the 900s . . course I should mention the great sonics . . . ;-)
Enjoy,

You can carefully bent (did I say carefully) the METAL part on each side to relief some pressure and adjust it to your likings.
